Library Wireless Internet Policy

Milton-Union Public Library Wireless Policy

The Milton-Union Public Library now provides wireless Internet connectivity for the convenience of our patrons.  By choosing to use this free wireless service, you agree to abide by the Library’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy that prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the Library’s Internet service.

It is the responsibility of the user to understand this policy and his/her obligation to refrain from viewing inappropriate websites, spamming or any illegal activities.   Use of library wireless access can be prohibited after violating these obligations.  Misuse of the Internet access will result in loss of computer access.  The first incident will result in a one-month suspension of computer access.  The second incident will result in permanent suspension of computer access.

Use of the wireless network is at your own risk; the Milton-Union Public Library is not responsible for any damage that may occur to your computer while connected, nor can the Library guarantee the security of your wireless transactions.  Printing is available via wireless, files may be saved to flash drives and printed on our word processing computers, or emailed and printed from our Internet computers.

The wireless network is designed to cover the entire library, but no guarantee can be made for signal strength or availability which may fluctuate with the number of users and other conditions.  Due to liability concerns, library staff will not provide technical assistance nor troubleshoot problems with your wireless devices.
